Control system for small hydropower system

The customer operates his own small hydroelectric power station. His own pond serves as a water source. From there, the water is led to a lower-lying turbine. The electrical energy generated by the turbine is fed into the local power grid. Tailored to the customer's requirements, a control concept was developed which guarantees a cost-effective and simple operation of the hydroelectric power plant. The water level of the pond is monitored by means of float switches via an IoTPilot. The IoTPilot supplies itself with energy around the clock via a solar cell and an integrated battery. The current water level is continuously transmitted to the IoTGateway. One kilometre away from the pond, the gateway automatically controls the operation of the turbine.

Software development for various solar plants

We have been able to apply on various occasions our extensive knowledge of software development for production facilities in solar plants. Particularly in the sector of thin-film solar cell plants we have many years of experience and specific know-how in chained production lines. We are also experienced in creating MES (Manufacturing Execution System) connections and can communicate with integrators on the same level. We know the requirements of cycle times which are as short as possible and integrated servodrives in NC or CNC controls and programm these with and without visualisation.

fully automatic pyrolysis system

Our customer is doing pioneering work in this project. The operation of a biogas plant generates large amounts of high-temperature waste heat. Often this heat remains unused because no suitable use can be found nearby. This was also the case with our customer's biogas plant in the past. But now he has developed a plant that uses the waste heat directly to produce valuable raw materials from wood on site. Temperatures between 300-800°C force a thermo-chemical splitting of the organic compounds in the furnace - the so-called pyrolysis. In this way, high-quality coal and other by-products can be obtained from the wood raw material. Meier IoT provided technical support for the entire plant development. An automation system tailored to the plant was developed. All plant values are recorded and visualised on a customer-suitable data portal, and the customer can access all plant values from all devices (laptop, smartphone, tablet). In addition, the data portal has a fault and alarm manager, which informs the customer via SMS or email as soon as something is wrong with the system.
