Cable diameters
The supply cables for our star/delta controls depend on the motor performance used in regard to diameter and safeguards.
Correct dimensioning of the supply cable and its safeguarding measures are the responsibility of the installation technician.
As an installation help reference can be made to the following table.

* The listed diameters are valid for a maximum cable length of 4 meters which are exposed.
If the cables are longer and/or laid differently, an increase in diameter can become necessary.
Under any circumstances the corresponding provisions must be complied with.
Motor guard
The star/delta controls from Meier Elektronik AG protect the motor from overload with the help of a thermocouple or a thermorelay.
As the motor is connected with six conductors, only 0.58 times the current flows through the thermocouple.
This is to be kept in mind when setting the thermorelay. The following table provides information on the settings for the thermorelay and which type should be used for each capacity:

The motor guard or thermorelay must be set according to the motor performance according to the column “Setting current” to protect the motor to a maximum.
